On Sunday SDJSL had a player who had a cardiac arrest on the pitch in the Under 15 fixture between Stockbridge Park Steels and Maltby Juniors. His heart stopped and he wasn’t breathing, two nurses – who were Mums from the other team, and our coach – who is a police officer, started CPR. They then got the defibrillator and shocked him to try to get his heart beating and back to the normal rhythm. He was down for 7 mins, once the ambulance arrived, they continued to save his life and managed to get him stable enough to take him to hospital.
Daniel’s Mum… The presence of the defibrillator saved my son’s life.
